A little history
Habersham Woods was carved out of pine and oak woodland in the 1960s as Savannah's professional class moved south, and the developers left the tree cover largely intact. Lots were sold to individual builders rather than a single production firm, so the streets read as a collection of one-off custom houses — traditional brick, low-country frame, and the occasional mid-century modern.
The market today
It has quietly become one of the strongest mid-city submarkets. Original houses trade in the $500Ks; substantially rebuilt homes on the best wooded lots reach $1.8M. The draw is the combination of large private lots, an established canopy, and a ten-minute commute to both downtown and the islands.
