A little history
Midway was settled in 1752 by Puritan congregationalists from Massachusetts by way of South Carolina, and the 1792 Midway Church and its walled cemetery still stand on Highway 17. Two signers of the Declaration of Independence came from this congregation — the reason the county is named Liberty.
The market today
Housing is modest and rural, with acreage parcels and access east toward Sunbury and the Medway River. Pricing is among the lowest on the coast, and I-95 puts Savannah at about forty-five minutes.
